I taught art in the Syracuse City School District for twenty-three years before retiring to concentrate on my own art. While teaching, a snow-day was always an unexpected gift for the teachers as well as the students. I am not a poet or writer. I think this poem worked because it came from personal experience.
I’ve lived in Syracuse for my entire career; first as an art teacher, and since as a fantasy and steampunk painter. I’m currently working on a book that combines my paintings with haikus, as well as participating in various art fairs and exhibits in order to sell my work.
