Cynthia Perrine
Poet
I've been interested in creative writing most of my life. I was an English major in college and worked as a children's librarian for several years and then had 3 children of my own. I sold advertising for 20 years and started The Scotchman City Edition. I went back to college and got a degree as a registered nurse and have spent the last 25 years working as a nurse. I love it!

Because I love music (I play a number of instruments, including guitar, harmonica, piano, ukulele, clarinet, violin, recorder, and I play bells in church bell choir) and I enjoy listening to music, I took special pleasure in hearing the musicians play that day in Armory Square.

I wrote my haiku based on that experience. Most of my poetry involves nature and feelings. I believe we should strive to be the best version of ourselves. Each day of life is a precious gift.

Sidewalk musician,
the shoppers stop to listen.
Sweet sounds fill the air.
