Syracuse Poster Project Banner

Nicholas Petrone
The imagery for this poem came from my own experience with Syracuse winters, and I wrote the haiku one evening after a big snowstorm. My children had been playing all day in the wind and the snow, and after I put them to bed I sat down and wrote this poem.

Iíve submitted haiku several times before, and Iíve supported the Syracuse Poster Project for a few years now. In fact, during ďArt on the Porches,Ē the Poster Project sells posters from my porch. I love the idea of art students coming together with other people from the community. There are a lot of talented people in Syracuse, and I think itís great that we can collaborate and produce something that shows pride in our city.
